Job summary

IEM is hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance on electrical, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and life-safety systems across three buildings. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and coordinate with outside contractors as needed to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires 2+ years in facilities maintenance, familiarity with CMMS, and basic electrical/mechanical skills. Flexibility for shift work, safety training (LOTO/OSHA) is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school certification in a facilities-related trade preferred.
• 2+ years of hands-on facilities maintenance experience in manufacturing or multi-building environments.
• Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems; ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Familiarity with CMMS/work order systems; able to document work electronically.
• Understanding of LOTO and general industrial safety practices (OSHA 10/30 a plus).
• Ability to read basic blueprints and equipment manuals is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors/dock equipment, and life-safety systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues across three buildings, escalating complex repairs as needed.
• Respond to facility work orders via CMMS, prioritizing safety and production impact.
• Support production continuity by minimizing downtime through timely repairs and proactive issue identification.
• Maintain general building repairs and minor carpentry, drywall, painting, and flooring.
• Maintain electrical distribution components at a basic level and assist licensed electricians on higher-voltage work.
• Inspect dock doors and material handling equipment interfaces.
• Conduct routine safety inspections for hazards and code compliance.
• Coordinate with vendors for specialized repairs; participate in after-hours emergency response.
• Provide shift hand-off communications to ensure continuity of open work orders.
