Job summary

J&J Worldwide Services at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center seeks a Facilities Operations & Maintenance Supervisor for 2nd shift to oversee evening maintenance and hospital utility systems, ensuring safe, compliant operations and rapid response to emergencies.

The role requires supervising multi-trade staff (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), enforcing Joint Commission and NFPA standards, maintaining CMMS records, and coordinating handoffs to day and third shifts while supporting 24/7

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
5–7 years of facilities operations and maintenance experience in a healthcare, military, or mission-critical environment.
2–3 years of supervisory or lead experience.
Experience with hospital building systems and CMMS platforms (DMLSS preferred).
Strong leadership and communication skills for off-hours operations and shift turnover.

Responsibilities

Supervise multi-trade maintenance personnel (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, utility, general maintenance, etc.) assigned to 2nd shift within a union/CBA environment.
Assign, prioritize, and oversee PM, CM, and emergency work during evening operations.
Ensure adequate staffing, coverage, and readiness for emergency response during the 2nd shift.
Serve as the escalation point for operational issues during the shift.
Document performance issues and coordinate discipline, coaching, and corrective actions with management and HR.
Ensure effective handoff communication to 3rd shift and day shift leadership.
