Job summary

Bay Cities, an Employee Owned Company in California, seeks an Environmental & Safety Coordinator to lead all EHS programs across office and plant. Under minimal supervision, you will ensure OSHA standards are met and drive safety initiatives.

Responsibilities include incident investigations, training, reporting, and maintaining documentation. The role requires a bachelor’s in EHS or equivalent, 2+ years manufacturing experience, bilingual Spanish/English preferred, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree related to the EHS field or commensurate experience.
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 2 years as a Safety Coordinator or EHS Coordinator.
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards and Compliance.
• Familiarity with air permitting, spill prevention, wastewater/storm water permits, storage tank regulations, and waste disposal regulations.
• Strong technical and organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assess equipment and machinery for safe operation.
• Investigate on-site accidents.
• Create plans to improve health and safety in the workplace.
• Educate staff on health and safety protocols.
• Prepare reports for management.
• Define EHS goals with management; align with business vision.
• Train employees on health and safety policies.
• Conduct inspections and identify hazards and violations.
• Provide solutions for hygiene, health, and safety hazards.
• Implement new health and safety protocols to ensure compliance.
• Monitor processes and employee activities.
• Generate assessment and incident reports and manuals.
• Report to management, OSHA, and other agencies.
• Submit health and safety compliance documents.
