Job summary

McCormick & Company in Salinas, CA is hiring a Distribution Technician - 2nd Shift to pick, pack, and ship customer orders, and to operate forklifts and material handling equipment in our warehouse under LMS tracking.

The role involves inbound receiving, put-away, replenishment, and order selection with precise documentation. Overtime on short notice may be required; temperature extremes are expected in this position.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain forklift license via McCormick.
• Ability to work in an environment with spice dust and odors, noise and vibration.
• Ability to work in an environment that is subject to temperature extremes.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on a continual basis and 25-50 pounds on a frequent basis.

Responsibilities

• Operates transporter, stand-up, reach or sit-down fork truck.
• Completes all paperwork & system transactions per SOP, including labels and placards.
• Identifies and communicates issues to shift leadership and managers.
• Attend shift meetings and suggest general process improvements.
• Performs sanitation and battery changing and other general duties.
• Other duties as assigned.
