Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a diesel truck maintenance technician to safely operate, repair, rebuild and maintain company-owned or leased heavy-duty trucks and rolling stock to keep the fleet operating safely.

Starting pay is $26-$30 per hour with overtime after 40 hours and two shift options: 4am-2pm M-F or 8:30am-6pm M-F. Benefits include PTO, tool allowance, boot reimbursement, health benefits after 60 days, and 401K after 6 months.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining diesel refuse trucks and heavy-duty equipment.
• Ability to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance.
• Willingness to work 9-hour shifts and overtime after 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, brakes, suspension, PTO systems and other components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep refuse trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet readiness.
