Job summary

Fidelity Investments is seeking a seasoned Electrical Shift Engineer to support our high-availability data center environments in a fast-paced, 7x24 setting. You will work hands-on with electrical and mechanical systems, coordinating inspections, and supervising vendors to ensure reliability and compliance.

The role requires strong communication, OSHA knowledge, and experience with BMS/EPMS/CMMS systems, plus the ability to read blueprints and O&M manuals.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade license with at least 3 years of trade experience.
• Universal EPA certification is required.
• Data Center engineering and supervision experience is desirable.
• AAS in a technical discipline is desirable.
• Direct interface with IT hardware planning and change control environments is preferred.
• Ability to read construction prints, submittal information, and O&M manuals.
• Ability to navigate and use BMS, EPMS, and CMMS systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of refrigerants and electrical codes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise inspections, testing, calibration and repairs of electrical and mechanical systems with in-house staff, vendors, engineers, and test equipment.
• Direct and manage third-party vendors to meet cost, time and exposure commitments.
• Maintain infrastructure operations and control systems to prevent unauthorized access.
• Oversee preventive and remedial maintenance for critical power, cooling, heating, and humidification.
• Prepare daily maintenance logs with accurate closure of issues.
• Perform site inspections and rounds for completeness and accuracy.
• Report through Lead Engineers, Engineering Manager and Director as appropriate.
• Switch to standby generators and bypass UPS systems during faults per procedures.
• Operate fire detection and suppression systems and follow protection procedures.
