Job summary

Align seeks an Assistant Superintendent to coordinate second-shift construction activities for a data center white space fit-out in the Detroit metropolitan area. This role collaborates with the Project Manager and daytime team to oversee contractors, monitor progress, and maintain safety and schedule.

Ideal candidates have field supervision experience in data center or critical facility construction, with strong communication and ownership mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising or coordinating field teams in construction projects.
• Ability to read construction drawings and understand installation sequences.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with follow-through to field issues.

Responsibilities

• Serve as onsite field representative during second shift, coordinating work with contractors and clients.
• Review daily priorities with Project Manager and daytime team to ensure smooth shift handoff.
• Coordinate contractor activities, ensure access to materials, and maintain safe, compliant work progress.
• Walk the jobsite to monitor progress and quality against drawings and specs.
• Support fit-out activities including containment, cabling, and electrical/mechanical installations.
• Reinforce site safety and elevate hazards through proper channels.
• Maintain daily reports and logs; flag scope changes as needed.
• Coordinate punch-list work, inspections, and turnover activities.
