Job summary

HME is seeking a Janitor to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment at our California facility. The role covers general housecleaning duties, restroom sanitation, waste disposal, floor care, and light maintenance, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The position operates on the 2nd shift (Monday–Friday, 2:30 pm–11:00 pm) with a pay range of $18.00–$19.81 per hour plus shift differential. 3+ years of experience is preferred and a mechanical aptitude is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and safe use of all cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Experience with floor care machines, striping and waxing.
• Average mechanical aptitude.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• 3+ years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide general housecleaning duties in accordance with the approved schedule.
• Clean, disinfect, and resupply restrooms.
• Remove litter, wastepaper, and broken-down boxes from buildings, disposing of waste in proper dumpsters (i.e. recyclable, non-recyclable).
• Vacuum carpeted floors and performs high and low dusting.
• Maintain cleanliness of carpeted and tiled floors.
• Wet mop tile floors and performs spot-cleaning, as needed.
• Provide general maintenance and secures storage/supply rooms.
• Assist with construction, moving of furniture and shelving, and replacement of light bulbs/ballasts as assigned.
• Keep track of ladders, vacuums, and other equipment used within scope of job.
