Job summary

HME is seeking a reliable Janitor to join our Carlsbad, CA team on 2nd shift (Mon–Fri, 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm). You will perform general housecleaning, restrooms, litter removal, floor care, and light maintenance. Requires knowledge of cleaning chemicals, experience with floor machines, and basic reading/writing/math.

3+ years preferred. Pay range: $18.00/hr–$19.81/hr, with shift differential. Physical work includes lifting up to 25 pounds and exposure to typical shop/office conditions; good

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Experience with floor care machines, striping and waxing.
• Average mechanical aptitude.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide general housecleaning duties in accordance with the approved schedule.
• Clean, disinfect, and resupply restrooms.
• Remove litter, wastepaper, and broken-down boxes from buildings, disposing of waste in proper dumpsters (i.e. recyclable, non-recyclable).
• Vacuum carpeted floors and perform high and low dusting.
• Maintain cleanliness of carpeted and tiled floors.
• Wet mop tile floors and perform spot-cleaning, as needed.
• Provide general maintenance and secure storage/supply rooms.
• Escort cleaning suppliers making deliveries.
• Assist with construction, moving of furniture and shelving, and replacement of light bulbs/ballasts as assigned.
• Keep track of ladders, vacuums, and other equipment used within scope of job.
