Job summary

College of Lake County is seeking a Custodian for the 2nd shift at the Southlake Campus. The role focuses on maintaining campus cleanliness and sanitation, with hours from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

A strong work ethic and ability to handle physical tasks are essential. Responsibilities include cleaning interior and exterior spaces, managing waste, assisting with room setups, and supporting snow removal as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to walk/stand for long periods and frequently bend, squat, climb, kneel, twist; occasional sitting.
• Ability to push, carry, lift up to 70 lbs regularly and over 70 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Cleans interior and exterior of all buildings; sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, washing windows, etc.
• Maintains cleanliness of entrances, washrooms, offices, lounges, lunchrooms, corridors; empties waste receptacles.
• Assists in snow removal at entrances and walkways.
• Assists in room setups, furniture moves, stage setups.
• Operates custodial equipment such as vacuum, burnisher, scrubber, and carpet extractors.
