Primary Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Head Custodian, responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining the school building and grounds, setting up equipment for events, and assisting with work requests. Maintaining good relationships with staff, students, parents, and the community is essential, along with punctuality and confidentiality.

Work Schedule & Benefits

• Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week
• Work Days: 260 days (Year-round)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and chemical handling
• Ability to work independently, lift heavy items, and stand for long periods
• Ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheets
• No prior experience required; preferred but not mandatory

Essential Functions

• Cleaning assigned areas, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and restroom cleaning
• Handling emergency cleanups
• Disposing of trash and restocking supplies
• Setting up for events and maintaining building security
• Participating in professional development
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

Regularly sit, stand, handle objects, and communicate. Frequently walk, reach, climb, and stoop. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
