An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Custodian for the 2nd shift to ensure a clean and safe environment in school facilities. This year-round position involves various responsibilities, including maintaining cleanliness, assisting with repairs, and supporting cafeteria operations. (All Grade 1 Custodians hired on or after 11/01/2019 shall be hired with a "District Wide" custodial designation per Union Agreement.)
Work Year: Year Round, 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM (Monday through Friday)
Start Date: ASAP
Salary Range: $20.77/hr after 90-day probationary period. During probation, the wage rate will be $2.00 less per hour.
High school diploma or equivalent. At least one year's experience in janitorial routines. Physical ability to perform duties including walking, bending, standing for long periods, climbing stairs and ladders, crawling in confined spaces, shoveling, working at heights of 15-20 feet, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 100 lbs (with assistance), and working with cleaning, snow removal, lawn care equipment, and construction/maintenance products.
Assist the Head Custodian in maintaining school buildings and grounds in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. Responsibilities include sweeping and mopping floors, washing windows, changing light bulbs, moving furniture, performing minor repairs, maintaining janitorial equipment, assisting with emergency cleanups, reporting issues like vandalism, helping with snow removal, supporting cafeteria operations, and other duties as assigned by the Head Custodian or Plant Operations Supervisor.
