Job summary

Spring Arbor of Rocky Mount is seeking a dependable Cook to join the dining team, preparing meals for residents with menus tailored to specialized senior diets. 2nd shift, part-time, Monday–Friday and every other weekend. 1–2 years of high-volume or institutional kitchen experience preferred.

ServSafe certification is a plus and may be required within 30 days of hire. Responsibilities include preparing meals, supervising kitchen tasks, ensuring food safety, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Flexible/adaptable with good teamwork.
• Good time management and safety awareness.
• Current manager’s level food handler permit.
• Clear background check.
• Drug-free workplace policy followed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, visually appealing meals for residents and guests.
• Supervise the kitchen under the Dining Services Director and Lead Cook.
• Follow standard recipes and recipes and manage costs per policy.
• Oversee washing of dishes and proper maintenance of kitchen equipment.
• Maintain safe food handling, temperatures, and sanitation.
• Engage with residents and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
