Job summary

Venteon seeks a 2nd Shift Controls Engineer in North Vernon, IN to develop and sustain production machinery, assembly equipment, and automation controls. The role requires hands-on PLC programming, robot integration, and performance monitoring to support world-class metal stamping and assembly operations.

You will lead projects, ensure safe operation, and collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to improve cycle times and throughput while meeting quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and Fanuc robots.
• Bachelor/Associate's Degree in Controls/Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 3–5 years of Robotic/Controls Engineering in manufacturing.
• 2nd shift experience or willingness to work 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design equipment such as production machinery and assembly equipment.
• Ensure safe operation and improve wiring and PLC logic to support metrics.
• Support maintenance during downtime and train maintenance staff.
• Improve processes to align with machine build standards and safety rules.
• Lead launch activities for new product implementations and ECNs.
• Identify process improvements and implement PLC logic across assembly, welding, adhesives, and stamping.
