Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a skilled Controls Technician to support maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of automated manufacturing equipment at their North Vernon, IN facility. The role operates on 2nd shift with a pay rate of $55k-$65k per year.

You will troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, diagnose electrical issues, program PLCs/HMIs/VFDs, and perform preventive maintenance. Strong knowledge of PLC platforms and industrial networking is required.

Qualifications

Associate degree or cert in Electrical/Mechatronics required.
3+ years in industrial controls in a manufacturing setting.
Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, motor controls.
Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or Mitsubishi PLC platforms.
Familiarity with robotics, servo systems, vision systems, and industrial networking.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled production equipment and automated systems.
Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial control systems.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automation and electrical equipment.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical documentation.
Install, configure, and test electrical control panels, sensors, motors, and instrumentation devices.
Support new equipment installations, automation upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
Assist with root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
