Job summary

Gulfco Manufacturing is hiring skilled Machinists for the 2nd shift in Pueblo, Colorado. Starting wage up to $36/hour with potential future raises; a shift differential of $0.75 applies for second shift. A relocation and hiring bonus may be offered for eligible new hires.

Positions include expert-level manual/conventional and CNC machinists with autonomy to determine run sequences and meet production schedules. Four 10-hour days plus Friday evenings define the schedule.

Qualifications

• Expertise in set-up, operation, and troubleshooting to meet production rates and quality.
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T and job orders to determine dimensions.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges).
• Experience with tooling, hand/power tools, and cutting techniques.
• Knowledge of fixturing, equipment setup, and grinding/sharpening (OD/ID).
• Ability to coach and train less experienced machinists and operators.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machines to achieve production targets.
• Interpret blueprints and tolerances to ensure correct part dimensions.
• Troubleshoot and adjust processes to maintain quality and throughput.
• Mentor and train junior machinists and trainees.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain clean work area.

(UP TO $5K RELOCATION & HIRING BONUS available for eligible new hires.)

• Hiring Expert-level Manual/Conventional Machinists.
• Hiring Expert-level CNC Machinists.
• Starting wage up to $36/hour (based on skills/competencies).
• Full pay range greater than $36/hour.
• Employees working the second shift will receive a shift differential of $0.75.
• Opportunities for future wage increases (based on performance reviews and increases in skill/competency).
• Four 10-hour schedules from Monday to Thursday (2:45 PM - 12:45 AM) and eight hours on Fridays (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM).

These expert-level roles have a high degree of autonomy, including determining the best run sequence of work orders for achieving the production schedule.

Expectations and Qualifications:

• Expertise in set-up, operation, and troubleshooting to consistently achieve production rates, quality standards, and production schedule.
• Expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical/engineering drawings, GD&T, process documentation, and job orders to determine dimensions, tolerances, and part requirements.
• Expertise in use of precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, bore gages, and other measuring instruments.
• Experienced with tooling, hand tools, power tools, and cutting techniques.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in fixturing and equipment setup.
• Tool grinding and sharpening experience. OD/ID grinding experience.
• Capable of guiding/coaching and/or training less experienced Machinists, Machinist Trainees, and Machine Operators.
• Adherence to safety procedures/guidelines at all times.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently. Reliable and have a strong work ethic.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.
