Job summary

Boon Edam Inc. in Lillington, NC, is hiring a Machining Tech for the second shift. You will set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment, perform complex tasks, and prepare parts for shipping. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree in CNC machining a plus.
• 3-5 years experience operating CNC and manual machining equipment; GibbsCAM experience preferred.
• Must be able to run 2-3 machines at one time.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must read measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, tapes, etc.
• Thorough knowledge of workholding systems, tooling, and safe machining practices.
• Self-motivated with ability to multi-task.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
• Good communication and organizational skills; English fluency.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.
• Physically able to perform all duties and lift at least 30 lbs.
• Basic computer skills and Windows navigation.

Responsibilities

• Consistently practices safe work habits and abides by all safety policies and guidelines.
• Validate program accuracy by running sample parts—measure features per drawings.
• Maintain inventories of raw materials and parts using established control procedures.
• Safely handle materials and material handling equipment to prevent injuries and damage, ensuring product quality.
• Do complex setups, recall and edit programs (G-code) and set offsets to troubleshoot and meet quality/production requirements on CNC and manual machining equipment.
• Fabricate part-holding fixtures as required to maintain quality and safety.
• Load, initiate machine cycle, unload, clean and inspect parts.
• Be willing to cross-train and train lesser-experienced employees.
• Organize and complete tasks on time to meet production schedules.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety; perform maintenance on equipment.
• Record time and material data for production reporting.
• Perform and document all quality inspections and testing.
