Job summary

Oerlikon Additive Manufacturing in Huntersville, NC is seeking a Machinist I to join the production team on a second shift (2:00pm–10:30pm). You will set up and operate CNC and manual machines, read blueprints, inspect parts, and follow SOPs to manufacture metal components for aerospace, defense, and semiconductor industries.

You will work in a team, troubleshoot issues, use basic measurement tools, and read GD&T drawings. We value attention to detail, safety, and the ability to learn.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of CNC machining processes.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (or willingness to learn).
• Knowledge of GD&T symbols or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up machines (CNC, manual lathes, mills, grinders).
• Operate machines under supervision to perform basic cutting, drilling, grinding, threading, and milling tasks.
• Learn to read blueprints and work from detailed drawings and specifications.
• Inspect parts for quality and tolerances using basic measurement tools (calipers, micrometers).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow standard operating procedures for machining and safety.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
