Job summary

Boon Edam Inc. in Lillington, NC is seeking a Machining Tech for the 2nd shift to setup and perform a variety of metal forming tasks, including cutting, milling, turning, bending, polishing and minor CNC programming/offsets for pre-shipping readiness.

The role requires 3–5 years of CNC and manual machining experience, blueprint reading, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Competitive pay and full benefits are offered, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in CNC machining is a plus.
• 3–5 years’ experience operating CNC and manual machining equipment; GibbsCAM experience preferred.
• Must be able to run 2–3 machines at one time.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints required.
• Must be able to read measuring tools such as calibers, micrometers, tape measures, etc.
• Thorough knowledge of workholding systems, tooling and safe machining practices.
• Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work in a team and contribute to team success.
• Good communication (English fluency) and organizational skills with a positive attitude.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Physically able to perform all job duties and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Basic computer skills and ability to navigate Windows systems.

Responsibilities

• Setup and run CNC and manual machines.
• Validate program accuracy by running sample parts and measuring features per drawings.
• Maintain inventories of raw materials and parts using established control procedures.
• Safely handle materials and equipment to prevent injuries and damage; ensure product quality.
• Perform complex setups, recall and edit programs (G-code) and offsets as required.
• Fabricate holding fixtures to maintain quality and safety.
• Load, initiate machine cycles, unload and inspect parts.
• Be willing to cross-train and train lesser experienced employees.
• Organize and complete tasks on time to meet production schedules.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety; perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Accurately record time and material data for production reporting.
• Perform and document all quality inspections and testing as required.
