Job summary

Engineered Steel Products (ESP) in Sophia, NC is seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Machine Operator to set up, operate, and maintain production equipment for structural steel fabrication. The role starts on 1st shift for training (6AM–3:30PM) with a planned transition to 2nd shift (3:30PM–1AM) and weekend Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities include ensuring product quality, keeping accurate production records, and adhering to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC controlled machines (drill line, angle line, burn table).
• Ability to work 2nd shift reliably.
• Basic mechanical aptitude, reading measurements, and troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to safety and accuracy in production.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machinery per production schedules on 2nd shift.
• Monitor machine function and product quality; adjust as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning to keep equipment in top condition.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize delays.
• Maintain production records and report safety or quality concerns.
• Follow safety guidelines and company policies; support team targets.
• Collaborate with team to meet daily production goals and improve processes.
