Job summary

Engineered Steel Products (ESP) in Sophia, NC, is seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Machine Operator to set up, operate, and maintain production equipment for structural steel fabrication.

This role starts on the 1st shift for training with a plan to transition to the 2nd shift (6:00 AM–3:30 PM then 3:30 PM–1:00 AM with Saturday shifts). Strong attention to detail and safety, blueprints reading, and production documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC machinery such as Drill Line, Angle Line and Burn Table.
• Ability to work the 2nd shift schedule reliably.
• Basic mechanical aptitude, reading measurements and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machinery according to production schedules and specifications during the 2nd shift.
• Monitor machine functions and product quality, making adjustments as needed to maintain standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly to minimize production delays.
• Maintain accurate production records and report any safety or quality concerns to supervisors.
• Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets and improve processes.

We are hiring for a C NC Operator who will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining production equipment for processing structural steel to meet quality and productivity standards.

This role will start out as a 1st shift for training with the plan to transition to a 2nd shift role. Hours will initially be 6AM to 3:30PM Monday through Friday with frequent Saturday shifts and will then transition to 3:30PM to 1AM Monday through Friday and frequent Saturday shifts.
