Job summary

Engineered Steel Products (ESP) in Sophia, NC is seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Machine Operator to set up, operate, and maintain production equipment for structural steel fabrication. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machinery per production schedules on 2nd shift.
• Monitor machine function and product quality; adjust as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning to keep equipment in top condition.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize delays.
• Maintain production records and report safety or quality concerns.

We are hiring for a C NC Operator who will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining production equipment for processing structural steel to meet quality and productivity standards.

This role will start out as a 1st shift for training with the plan to transition to a 2nd shift role. Hours will initially be 6AM to 3:30PM Monday through Friday with frequent Saturday shifts and will then transition to 3:30PM to 1AM Monday through Friday and frequent Saturday shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate machinery according to production schedules and specifications during the 2nd shift.
• Monitor machine functions and product quality, making adjustments as needed to maintain standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues promptly to minimize production delays.
• Maintain accurate production records and report any safety or quality concerns to supervisors.
• Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets and improve processes.

Requirements:

• Previous experience operating CNC controlled manufacturing machinery including Drill Line, Angle Line, and Burn Table
• Ability to work the 2nd shift schedule reliably.
• Basic mechanical aptitude, ability to read measurements, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
