Job summary

Erie Industrial Products, Oberlin, OH, is seeking a 2nd Shift CNC Operator to join our precision manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC mills and grinders, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

This is a full-time, onsite role with a Monday–Friday schedule from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM and overtime opportunities. We value accuracy, teamwork, and a safe, organized work environment that supports continuous improvement and skill growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC machinery.
• Knowledge of X, Y, and Z axes and 4th/5th axis CNC machining.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of G & M Codes and CNC program editing.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Team-oriented with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills and grinders to produce precision parts.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and production documentation.
• Change fixtures, tooling, and tooling offsets to ensure accurate machine setups.
• Edit CNC programs and adjust G & M Codes, speeds, and feeds as needed.
• Work with X, Y, and Z axes, along with 4th and 5th axis machining.
• Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve problems.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while meeting quality and production goals.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
