Job summary

Erie Industrial Products, Oberlin OH, is seeking an experienced CNC 2nd Shift Supervisor to lead our evening machining operations while staying hands-on on the shop floor.

You will coach machinists, perform complex CNC setups on mills and lathes, and optimize tooling, cycles, and quality to meet customer requirements. This role emphasizes leadership, problem-solving, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience leading machinists or manufacturing employees.
• Advanced CNC setup and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with CNC mills and lathes.
• Strong blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support CNC machinists and operators on second shift.
• Perform complex CNC setups on mills and lathes.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and programming issues.
• Edit CNC programs at the machine as needed.
• Optimize cycle times, tooling, feeds, speeds, and workholding.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
• Coordinate production priorities, workflow, and daily assignments.
• Ensure finished parts meet quality specifications and customer requirements.
• Train and develop machinists to strengthen technical skills and team performance.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with production, quality, and engineering to resolve manufacturing challenges.
