Job summary

Staffmark is seeking a CNC Machinist in San Diego, CA to operate CNC equipment, program, set up, and run jobs on the 2nd shift. The role requires reading blueprints, working with tight tolerances, and ensuring high-quality output.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing and 3+ years of CNC experience, with strong attention to detail and tooling knowledge. Competitive weekly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges).
• Understanding of machining principles, tooling, feeds, speeds, and material properties.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of experience operating CNC machinery.
• Adaptability to changing tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to understand and adhere to quality standards in production processes.
• Ability to use inspection equipment, tools, and gauges.
• Ability to read bar graphs for department metrics.
• Experience with Mori or Hass Machines.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines to drill, mill, and other tasks.
• Load raw materials, parts, and fixtures cutting tools into CNC machines.
• Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate the required number of parts.
• Supervise the machines while tasks are executed and seek leadership for adjustments for improved results.
• Inspect, measure, and compare finished products against specifications to ensure conformance.
• Deburr parts per specification requirements using hand-held tools.
• Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
• Accurately collect daily production data and input it into the designated systems and databases.
• Read and follow blueprints, drawings and SOPs to complete operations.
• Load programs from DNC into CNC machine.
• Perform changeover cutting tools in CNC machines.
• Operate laser cutting machine.
