Job summary

Advanced Machining and Tooling LLC in Poway, CA, seeks a CNC Machinist (Mill) for the 2nd shift to operate a VMC Mill, read blueprints, and ensure tight tolerances. You will perform tool changes, basic program edits, and part inspections to meet customer specs and delivery schedules.

The role requires 3+ years of VMC Mill experience, precise measurement, GD&T knowledge, and the ability to work independently on a 2nd shift. This full-time, in-person position offers benefits and overtime potential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of VMC Mill experience.
• Ability to set up and operate Mill machines.
• Knowledge to produce 1st article inspection reports.
• Ability to hold tight tolerances.
• Familiarity with tool wear patterns and life management.
• Experience with minor program edits.
• Strong blueprint reading with GD&T when needed.
• Ability to work independently on 2nd shift.
• HS diploma or GED.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in basic shop arithmetic; G-codes required.
• Awareness of safety, and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate VMC Mill for cutting metal parts.
• Read blueprints and engineering specs; apply GD&T.
• Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments.
• Inspect parts with micrometers and calipers.
• Maintain tight tolerances and quality; manage tool life.
• Make minor program edits and rework as needed.
• Suggest process optimizations; maintain clean, safe area.
