Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Jeffersonville, IN seeks a CNC Machinist to set up and operate manual and CNC tools, including HAAS and MAZAK, to produce precision parts. You will read blueprints, determine speeds/feeds, and inspect first pieces to ensure tolerances are met.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 1–3 years in manufacturing, with strong math and blueprint-reading abilities. This on-site role offers a discretionary performance bonus and a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency in shop math and blueprint reading.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
• Performs machine set ups to obtain close tolerances, fitting and alignment of machined parts.
• Obtains required inspections on first pieces of a run according to prescribed procedure and performs inspections on work-in-progress using a wide variety of measuring devices.
• Selects the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to be used on machines.
• Examines and measures completed units and parts to identify defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors.
• Displays proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing as called out on prints.
• Operates fabrication machinery to produce parts, mainly Mazak and HAAS equipment.
• Ensures proper machine setup and accurate interpretation of prints and specs to prevent material damage.
• Detects errors with frequent tolerance/quality checks.
