Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Houston, TX seeks a 2nd Shift CNC Machinist to operate CNC lathes and mills and perform routine, repeatable machining on standardized parts. You will set up for tight tolerances, inspect first pieces, and document time and counts per job to ensure quality and traceability.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 2+ years of CNC experience and basic shop math/blueprint reading training.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Some trade school or on-the-job training is preferred to become proficient in CNC machining.
Technical training in shop math and blueprint reading is necessary to learn the job.
2+ years of experience as a CNC machinist.

Responsibilities

Operate CNC lathes and mills to machine standardized parts.
Set up machines to obtain close tolerances and proper fit.
Inspect first pieces and in-process parts using various measuring devices.
Maintain time, part counts, and inspection records for each job.
Create jigs, fixtures, or non-production devices as needed.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machining, tooling, or programming issues.
Interpret GD&T on prints to ensure accuracy and prevent material damage.
