Job summary

ATC Automation in Cookeville, TN is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our tooling and fabrication team on the 2nd shift. You will read drawings, set up CNC and conventional machines, and machine parts to exact specifications.

The position offers a four-day workweek, a $3/hour shift differential, paid lunch breaks, and full-time onsite employment. Candidates should have 4+ years of machining experience and a trade certificate is a plus.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of machining experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Formal trade school or machining certificate preferred.
• Experience operating CNC and conventional machining equipment.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Experience using precision measuring tools to verify part dimensions.
• Strong knowledge of machining practices and shop mathematics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, specifications, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Set up and operate CNC machines and conventional machining equipment.
• Select, align, and secure cutting tools, fixtures, and accessories.
• Set machine controls, cutting parameters, and other machining factors.
• Perform machining operations such as milling, drilling, boring, reaming, cutting, and grinding.
• Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed.
• Inspect and verify completed parts using precision measuring instruments.
