Job summary

Aerotek is hiring CNC Operators for a manufacturing company in Lexington, TN. These 4-month contract-to-hire roles offer $24-$26 per hour with shift differentials (2nd shift +5%, 3rd shift +10%).

You will operate and fabricate sheet metal with CNC equipment, set up tooling, perform basic maintenance, and inspect parts to spec. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years CNC experience, strong measurement skills, and a commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of CNC experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience with CNC setup and tooling changes for press brakes and lasers.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Proficient with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, tape measures).
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC fabrication equipment (press brakes, lasers) to produce sheet metal parts per specs.
• Set up CNC machines with tooling, back gauges, dies, and bend parameters.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance and monitor lubrication and hydraulics.
• Safely load and position sheet metal; prevent damage and safety hazards.
• Interpret blueprints and work orders to determine material needs and steps.
• Conduct quality inspections using micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Identify and report equipment, process, or safety issues to minimize downtime.
• Assist with inventory and material management as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement to boost efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules across shifts.
