Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist in Holland, MI to independently machine CNC mills and lathes in a clean, air-conditioned toolroom. You will program directly at the machine, manage setups, tool changes, and runs with tight tolerances, and train on programming.

The role is permanent, onsite in Holland, MI, on 2nd shift with a 15% premium and pay range of $25–$31/hour. Direct Hire; benefits include medical, dental, vision, weekly pay, 401(k), and PTO. Training on programming is provided.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of CNC machinist experience; extensive general machine tool experience.
• Proven ability to machine and program CNC mills and lathes, with stronger proficiency on CNC mills.
• Ability to program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, SolidWorks, or comparable tools.
• Operate CNC machines from start to finish, including setup, tool changes, edits, programming, and running parts.
• Experience working with tight tolerances and precision machining.
• Proficiency in tooling, speeds, and feeds.
• Strong skills in using hand gauges, comparators, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read GD&T and blueprints.
• Ability to work independently off shift.
• Solid organization and communication to coordinate work.
• Comfort in a fast-paced automotive-related manufacturing environment.
• Commitment to following established processes.

Responsibilities

• Machining CNC mills and lathes to tight tolerances and high quality standards.
• Program at the machine using CAD/CAM software; verify programs and edit as needed.
• Set up tooling, perform tool changes, and run parts from start to finish.
• Inspect finished parts for conformance to specs and communicate any issues.
• Work in a fast-paced automotive-related manufacturing environment.

Job Description

This role focuses on independently machining CNC mills and lathes in a clean, air-conditioned toolroom within a metal stamping manufacturing facility. Working primarily on mills while also handling lathes, programming directly at the machine using CAD/CAM software, and completing machining jobs from start to finish with tight tolerances. Will train on programming!

Essential Skills

• At least 4 years of experience as a CNC machinist, with 46 years of general machine tool experience.
• Proven ability to machine and program CNC mills and lathes, with stronger proficiency on CNC mills.
• Ability to program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, SolidWorks, or comparable tools.
• Capability to operate CNC machines from start to finish, including setup, tool changes, edits, programming, and running parts.
• Experience working with tight tolerances and precision machining requirements.
• Proficiency in machine tool applications, including selection of tooling, speeds, and feeds.
• Strong skills in using hand gauges, comparators, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Ability to work independently and complete tasks unsupervised, especially on an off shift.
• Solid organization and communication skills to coordinate work and support manufacturing needs.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced automotive-related manufacturing environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Demonstrated commitment to following established processes and procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Holland, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $59800.00 - $64584.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
