Job summary

HORST Engineering in East Hartford, CT seeks a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to lead a multi-department team of CNC operators and setup technicians in a high mix/low volume aerospace environment. This role balances CNC setup and operation with lean improvements and strong people leadership.

You will run production jobs, coach staff, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery while partnering with engineering, purchasing, and production teams to close issues and optimize throughput.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years progressive career in manufacturing of precision machined components in a regulated industry.
• Experience leading a small team toward common goals.
• Strong understanding of ISO/AS quality standards and safety regulations.
• Ability to set up and operate CNC equipment and train others.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security, quality and EH&S audits to ensure safety and compliance.
• Coordinate time-off requests to maintain staffing levels across all disciplines.
• Motivate the team to meet daily/weekly/monthly goals and identify waste.
• Measure, publish and review performance; conduct timely evaluations.
• Lead daily GEMBA walks and coordinate with engineering, purchasing, production and sales to close issues.
• Plan with production control to stage priorities and expedite as needed.
• Set up and operate CNC machines; provide technical support to the team.
• Maintain ERP data integrity and flag discrepancies affecting quantity/delivery.
• Develop and document standard work and coach teammates for process improvement.
