HORST Engineering in East Hartford, CT is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to set up and operate turning centers and multi-axis lathes. The role requires reading blueprints, travel instructions, and working from specifications to produce high-precision parts.

The position offers 1st or 2nd shifts with a 15% differential on 2nd shift. Candidates should have 3+ years of setup experience, familiarity with Fanuc/Okuma controls, and the ability to train others while ensuring strict quality

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus.
• At least 3 years of setup experience required.
• Experience with aerospace products or close tolerance parts is a plus.
• Must be familiar with Fanuc and/or Okuma controls.
• Ability to read and interpret operation sheets, blueprints and specs.
• Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

• Set up and operate CNC lathes (2-axis and multi-axis) to produce quality parts.
• Work from blueprints, operation sheets, travelers or other specs; complete machining operations.
• Inspect parts and perform dimensional verification per QA guidelines.
• Train other set-up/operators and assist with production problems.
• Maintain clean, organized work area and report shortages or issues.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
