Job summary

Allegion US is seeking a Design Technician 1 to create and modify 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for mechanical components. You will collaborate with engineering to ensure designs meet quality and manufacturing standards and support second shift operations.

Responsibilities include ECO processing, cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing and quality, and basic tolerance analysis with prototype testing support.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CAD/Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field is required.
• 0–2 years of experience in mechanical drafting or related engineering support role is required.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD is required.
• Ability and willingness to work 2nd shift hours is required.
• Basic understanding of GD&T and manufacturing processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and revise 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Assist in the preparation and processing of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and related technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and quality, to resolve basic design and production issues.
• Perform basic tolerance analysis and assist with prototype testing and evaluation.
