Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Design Technician 1 (2nd Shift) in Fontana, CA to create and modify 2D drawings and 3D CAD models, ensuring designs meet quality and manufacturing standards while supporting 2nd shift operations.

You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams, perform basic tolerance analysis, and assist with prototype testing and evaluation as part of a structured CAD/design workflow.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CAD and Design or related field (Required).
• 0-2 years in mechanical drafting or related engineering support (Required).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD (Required).
• Ability and willingness to work 2nd shift hours (Required).
• Basic understanding of GD&T and manufacturing processes (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and revise 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Assist in the preparation and processing of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and related technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and quality, to resolve basic design and production issues.
• Perform basic tolerance analysis and assist with prototype testing and evaluation.
