Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Design Technician 1 (2nd Shift) in Fontana, CA to create and modify 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for mechanical components, and to support engineering changes and documentation.

You will work with manufacturing and quality teams, perform basic tolerance analysis, and assist with prototype testing to ensure designs meet quality and manufacturing standards. This role offers growth in a global safety and security company with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CAD/Design or related field required.
• 0–2 years of experience in mechanical drafting or related engineering support role required.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD) required.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and revise 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Assist in the preparation and processing of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and related technical documentation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve basic design and production issues.
• Perform basic tolerance analysis and assist with prototype testing and evaluation.
