Job summary

Graham Manufacturing is seeking a machinist to work on a second shift, four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, operating a manual boring mill and setting feeds, speeds, and tooling. The role requires reading blueprints, basic inspection, and maintaining quality within procedures.

A GED and machining training are required, with overtime possibly needed. Applicants should be prepared to supply personal tools and work in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school GED required.
• Trade school/BOCES in Machining Fundamentals.
• BOCES training or its equivalent in progressive machine shop assignments.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates machine for boring, turning, and facing castings, forging, jigs, fixtures, etc.
• Makes allowances for metal characteristics, temperature effects and shrinkage.
• Performs in-process inspection using measuring tools and indicators.
• Maintains clean and safe work area and adheres to safety policies.
