Haven Behavioral Hospital of Eastern PA is seeking a Full-time Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) for the 2nd shift in Reading, PA. The role supports nursing staff to maintain a therapeutic milieu through patient care activities and de-escalation techniques.

You will document observations and assist with daily living tasks in a compliant, safe environment. The position offers full benefits, tuition reimbursement, and a competitive wage.

Responsibilities

• Continually monitors and supports compliance within unit rules.
• Uses de-escalation and therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Inventories patient belongings and secures contraband; completes unit safety checks.
• Complies with infection control policies and attends required in-services to stay informed.
• Implements patient care activities under supervision of licensed nursing personnel; takes vital signs, weights, ADL, nutritional monitoring and communicates findings to the nurse.
• Assists patients with laundry, meals, bathroom functions and mobility needs as required.
• Individualizes all patient care activities to age-specific and cultural needs.
• Communicates and documents patient observations related to behavior and location; notes nutrition and intake accurately.
• Communicates task outcomes and follow-ups to nursing staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
