Job summary

Yarde Metals, Inc. in Southington, CT is seeking a Bar Saw Operator for the 2nd shift (1:30PM - 10:00PM). Pay ranges from $23.98 to $26.83 per hour. The role involves setting up and safely operating bar saws to cut material as ordered by customers.

Responsibilities include organizing work orders, material handling with forklifts/cranes, measuring with calipers, and performing inspections per the quality plan. Safety-sensitive with overtime potential.

Qualifications

• Requires operating heavy machinery and safety sensitivity.
• Must pass background check, drug screen, and physical.
• Experience in warehouse, material handling, or machining preferred.
• Must read, understand, and carry out work instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• SAFETY FIRST!
• Organize work orders to efficiently process material.
• Transport material throughout the warehouse using forklifts and cranes.
• Set up machines by selecting appropriate nozzles, setting speeds, and feeds.
• Measure material using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Confirm source material is from the correct location and is the correct material.
• Conduct first piece, in-process, and final inspections according to the quality sampling plan.
• Stack and sort finished products for packaging.
• Pack and protect material for shipment.
• Clean saws according to maintenance procedures.
• Perform additional warehouse duties as directed by supervisor.
