Job summary

Yarde Metals, Inc. in Southington, CT is seeking a Plate Saw Operator for the third shift to set up and operate plate saws and safely process material per customer specs. The role requires forklift experience, basic measurement skills, and strict adherence to safety.

Responsibilities include organizing work orders, moving material with forklifts, performing first-piece inspections, and preparing products for shipment. Overtime and a background check may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be safety-conscious and able to operate heavy machinery.
• Forklift experience is required.
• Ability to read and interpret measurement tools (calipers, rulers).
• Basic arithmetic and unit conversions.
• Must read, understand, and follow work instructions in English.
• Willingness to work overtime and on third shift.

Responsibilities

• SAFETY FIRST! Organize work orders to efficiently process material.
• Transport material with forklifts/cranes across the warehouse.
• Set up machines: nozzles, speeds, feeds; measure with calipers and tape.
• Inspect first piece and in-process per quality plan.
• Stack, package, and protect finished products for shipment.
• Perform additional warehouse duties as directed.
