Job summary

Doherty Staffing Solutions is hiring an Assembler for a leading manufacturing company in Mahtomedi, MN. This temporary role offers 2nd shift hours (Mon-Fri, 3:30pm-12:00am) with weekly pay and a path to longer-term opportunities.

You’ll perform routine assembly tasks, read process sheets, operate bench-top equipment, and clock in using a computer. Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED, basic math, and the ability to read a ruler and follow instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience is required.
• Ability to read and interpret prints/process sheets/specifications.
• Basic arithmetic including fractions and decimals.
• Ability to read a ruler and measure accurately.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers.
• Experience with using computers/ERP systems for job clocking and tracking.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly operations such as wire stripping, tinning, plugging, twisting, hand crimping, and packaging.
• Read and follow process sheets.
• Operate bench-top equipment.
• Clock into jobs/operations using a computer.
• Rotate between assembly areas as directed by supervisor.
• Inspect assemblies for form and function per print and process sheet.
• Identify and report quality issues.

What You’ll Do as an Assembler:

• Perform assembly operations such as wire stripping, tinning, plugging, twisting, hand crimping, and packaging
• Read, understand, and follow process sheet as provided
• Operate bench-top equipment
• Properly clock into jobs/operations using a computer
• Rotate between assembly areas as directed by manager or lead
• Inspect assemblies for proper form and function per print and process sheet
• Identify and report quality issues

What You Need to Bring to the Assembler Role:

• High school diploma or GED; or comparable work experience
• Demonstrated ability to accurately assemble parts using prints, process sheets, or specifications, etc.
• Basic mathematical operations, including the use of fractions and decimals
• Ability to accurately read and interpret a ruler
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work cooperatively with coworkers
• Ability to use and understand computers and their software programs such as an ERP system
