Job summary

J T in Seymour, CT is seeking a 2nd Shift AOI Operator to inspect PCB assemblies with automated optical inspection equipment. You will load inspection programs, evaluate results, and log defects to help sustain high first-pass yield and steady production flow.

The role requires a high school diploma, 0–3 years in electronics assembly or SMT, IPC‑A‑610 certification or willingness to obtain it, and basic computer skills. Work involves 2nd shift in a well‑lit EMS environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–3 years in electronics assembly, SMT or optical inspection preferred.
• IPC-A-610 certification or ability to obtain it.
• Training in component identification is required.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with shop floor tracking systems (Aegis) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor AOI systems per SOPs and production schedules.
• Load proper inspection programs for specific PCB revisions.
• Log and classify defects in the MIS system and trace dispositions.
• Troubleshoot minor AOI issues and escalate major defects to shift lead.
• Maintain 5S, adhere to ESD, safety standards, and team communication.
