Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking a 2nd Grade Instructional Paraprofessional at Grovecrest Elementary. This non-contract, hourly role supports the instructional program and assists in supervising and instructing special needs students in the resource classroom.

The position involves implementing IEP goals, providing classroom assistance, and performing clerical and safety duties to ensure a positive learning environment. Training opportunities may be provided, with lane-based pay and no benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must complete mandatory employee training within the first 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and materials under the supervising teacher to support objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers immediate first aid and health care assistance as instructed by a health care professional.
• Administers tests, homework and make-up work to support teachers.
• Assists data collection to monitor student progress.
• Assists students with self-care activities to maintain personal hygiene.
• Provides instruction to students individually or in groups to reinforce learning concepts and goals.
• Maintains classroom materials, files and equipment to ensure availability and compliance with requirements.
• Monitors students in various school settings to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Performs clerical duties to support efficient operations.
• Supports students with instructional activities to reinforce objectives and 504 plans.

Education
