Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a Co-Teacher to support instructional delivery under the guidance of a lead teacher and the assistant principal of instruction. The role focuses on implementing the Direct Instruction Curriculum, ensuring mastery before progression, and organizing students by level to support individualized pacing.

Candidates should have at least 48 college hours or a bachelor’s degree and 1+ year of experience with children.

Qualifications

• Education: At least 48 college hours or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience: 1+ year(s) working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting.
• Commitment to mastering the Direct Instruction Curriculum (DI).
• Ability to manage student behavior and maintain classroom organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the educational development of students under teacher guidance.
• Assist with maintaining student records.
• Implement the Direct Instruction Curriculum with fidelity.
• Support lesson practice and delivery of DI Curriculum.
• Communicate student progress weekly to students and families.
• Participate in school-wide initiatives and behavior management systems.
• Engage in tutoring sessions and after-school activities as needed.
