Job summary

Sonnenalp Properties, Inc. is seeking a motivated 2nd Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to maintain the highest standards for our golf course.

You will support the Superintendent and 1st Assistant Superintendent in day-to-day operations, ensuring pristine playing surfaces for members and guests. The role requires hands-on work outdoors, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to turf management, irrigation, and course improvements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of turfgrass management, equipment operation, and irrigation systems.
• Experience on a high-end golf course preferred.
• Knowledge of pesticide and fertilizer schedules and golf course regulations.
• Willingness to work outdoors and assist with various course maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of golf course maintenance, including planning, scheduling, and execution of tasks.
• Supervise and train the maintenance team to ensure efficient and safe operations.
• Participate in daily maintenance activities such as mowing, fertilizing, watering, and other essential tasks.
• Assist in operating and repairing the irrigation system, monitoring water usage, and troubleshooting issues.
• Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other chemicals safely and responsibly per standards.
• Diagnose turf health issues and implement corrective measures.
• Promote safety and conduct regular checks and enforce regulations.
• Contribute to course improvement projects and record maintenance data.
• Support the Golf Course Mechanic and participate in winter duties.
