Job summary

Garelick Farms, part of Dairy Farmers of America, is seeking a 2nd Shift Driver-Yard/Plant (Non-CDL). The role moves trailers between buildings and loading docks, following DOT and DFA guidelines.

The position offers a $24.25/hr base rate with a $1.50/hr shift differential for 2nd/3rd shifts, plus a $1,500 sign-on bonus for external candidates. High school diploma and driving/shuttling experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience driving or shuttling tractor trailers preferred.
• Must meet DFA motor vehicle records and DOT requirements.
• Must have driver’s license or operator’s permit for at least the three years prior to application.

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations, and safety practices.
• Receive instructions via radio and shuttle trailers to meet logistical needs.
• Perform daily maintenance checks on shuttle truck and report malfunctions.
• Document trailer moves in the system or daily move sheet and submit on shift end.
• Fuel the yard truck as needed.
• Couple and uncouple tractor trailer units and connect/disconnect brake lines as required.
• Conduct safety inspections of trailers according to DOT regulations.
• Complete all paperwork at shift end and maintain good records.
• Attend driver workshops and training sessions; represent DFA professionally.
• Other duties may be assigned as required.
