Job summary

JBS USA Ottumwa location seeks a 2nd/3rd shift HR Coordinator – Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing, timekeeping, and HR records in a production setting. The role handles confidential HR information, collaborates with the Accounting Manager, and ensures regulatory compliance.

Flexible hours include Monday–Saturday with occasional Sundays; SAP/Kronos and strong Excel skills are strongly preferred, with bilingual abilities a plus in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous timekeeping / payroll experience required.
• Able to work proactively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• SAP and Kronos experience strongly preferred.
• Strong Excel and MS Office proficiency.
• Good communication with Accounting Manager on urgent issues.
• Bilingual skills preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• 2 years HR experience preferred.
• Flexible and able to adapt to a changing environment.

POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION: 2nd / 3rd SHIFT Human Resources Coordinator – Payroll Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

LOCATION: Ottumwa

SALARY CLASS: Non- Exempt

HOURS: Flexible- Monday-Saturday occasional Sundays

The Human Resource department is looking for a dependable, focused, and results-oriented individual that is seeking to advance his/her career with our company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Track and coordinate compliance to Absentee Control Policy
• Handle confidential Human Resources information.
• Maintain adequate records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Enter and maintain employee records information into HRIS
• Employee Relations
• Assist HR staff with various clerical/administrative duties as needed
• Running daily payroll reports
• Editing payroll records per supervisors' request
• Filing payroll records.
• Handling all payroll issues concerning clock times.
• Working on temporary labor hours and other data.
• Performing accounting duties as assigned.
• Miscellaneous accounting projects for Accounting Manager and HR Manager.

Basic Skills & Qualifications

• Previous timekeeping / payroll experience required
• Ability to work on a proactive basis in a high paced, deadline-oriented environment
• SAP and Kronos experience strongly preferred
• Strong Excel experience and proficiency in all other Microsoft Office software
• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to communicate and work closely with Accounting Manager to relate critical/urgent issues
• Must be able to set goals and meet deadlines
• Professional phone skills
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to calmly and effectively handle stressful situations.
• Results oriented. Excellent problem-solving and follow-up skills.
• Computer knowledge required (prefer experience with PeopleSoft/SAP and proficiency in MS Office)
• Bilingual skills preferred
• Good attendance record(Less than3.0points, for internal candidates)
• High School degree required, some college preferred
• 2 years’ human resource experience preferred
• Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.
