Job summary

Maple Grove Senior High is seeking a 2nd/3rd shift Custodian to oversee daily custodial operations for Osseo Area School District 279. This role involves cleaning, basic repairs, and maintaining building systems to support a safe learning environment.

The position requires a high school diploma and the MN boiler license is preferred for higher pay. The district offers a full-time schedule with opportunities to advance within facilities operations.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must obtain MN Specialist boiler license to get Class 2 pay plus the Shift Differential.
• Experience in building maintenance or custodial work is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assume daily responsibility for the position subbed for.
• Communicate work allocations from Coordinator/Assistant Coordinator to custodial staff.
• Perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks in classrooms, restrooms, and hallways.
• Fix minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues as needed.
• Support kitchen staff with janitorial tasks and stock storeroom supplies.
• Monitor and adjust building automation controls.
• Secure the facility and manage security system arming/disarming.
• Report vandalism or unauthorized individuals in buildings.
• Maintain building grounds: mowing, trimming, weeding, and debris removal.
• Perform snow removal and keep sidewalks clear.
• Lead all aspects of building operation and report equipment issues promptly.
• Maintain and submit reports and logs in a timely manner.
• Paint district facilities as required.
• Operate and maintain boiler and related equipment.
• Set up and take down equipment for events.
• Provide excellent customer service to facility users.
• Perform other similar duties as assigned.
