Job Description

The Production Artist must have a comprehensive understanding of the print production process and packaging structures. The role of the Production Artist at THR3D is a bridge between 2D print and 3D CGI. The skill set must include a high level of proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. A solid understanding of print production techniques is necessary to take existing production art files and prepare them for 3D production.

As part of a team, the Production Artist will work closely with Producers, Modelers, and Lighters to provide the necessary 2D files for CGI production. The ability to create vector art for 3D Displacement maps is also required.

Job Responsibilities

• Understand the structure of pre-press files, color space, and requirements for successful results.
• Attend client meetings as necessary.
• Ensure accurate, consistent, and timely completion of high-quality artwork using industry-standard software and techniques.
• Create simple/basic 2D and/or 3D renders.
• Meet quality standards and recommend improvements.
• Work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment with minimal supervision.
• Prioritize workload, seek answers proactively, and meet deadlines.
• Collaborate across teams and clients, and make process improvement suggestions.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent; degree in Graphic Arts, Marketing, Advertising, Interior Design, or related fields preferred.
• Experience in prepress, graphic arts, or related print manufacturing field.
• Skills in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, print pre-press, packaging structure, color management, RGB & CMYK.
• Strong communication, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience using Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Salary range: $60,000 - $65,000 annually, depending on location and experience.
