Job description

  • This role is currently remote, but could become hybrid based in Chicago in the future.

Job Description

The Production Artist must have a comprehensive understanding of the print production process and packaging structures. The role involves bridging 2D print and 3D CGI, requiring proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. A solid understanding of print production techniques is essential for preparing files for 3D production.

As part of a team, the Production Artist will collaborate with Producers, Modelers, and Lighters to provide 2D files for CGI. The role also involves creating vector art for 3D Displacement maps.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand pre-press file structure, color space, and related requirements.
  • Attend client meetings as needed.
  • Ensure accurate, consistent, and timely completion of artwork using industry-standard software and techniques.
  • Create simple to complex 2D and / or 3D renders.
  • Maintain quality standards and suggest improvements.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Prioritize workload, seek answers proactively, and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate across teams and clients.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts, Marketing, Advertising, Interior Design, or related fields is preferred.
  • Experience in prepress, graphic arts, or print manufacturing.
  • Skills in Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat, print pre-press, packaging structure, color management, RGB & CMYK.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Experience with Mac OS, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite.

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary ranges from $60,000 to $65,000, depending on location and experience. Benefits include health care, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending or HSA, disability, and 401(k).

Additional Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience with Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and print manufacturing.
